Rob Medley, President
Mr. Medley earned his first Master Electrician license in 1992 from the State of Maryland and holds a Masters license in the District of Columbia, as well. In 1984, he was the first full-time employee that our founder Mr. Barnes ever hired. Rob left Echo in 1987 for the opportunity to handle larger projects. Still, he returned in 2003 to serve as the General Manager with the intent of making Echo a premier electrical contractor. He became President in 2016 with the retirement of Mr. Barnes. Mr. Medley has had an extensive electrical career, having worked in industrial plants, on power lines, renovated hospitals, retail stores, and shopping malls, commercial tenant spaces, restaurants, and some ultra-high-end residential projects. He spent six years working on military bases along the east coast, installing energy-efficient lighting and lighting controls. He is very active in the National Association for the Remodeling Industry (NARI). He loves traveling with his wife Donna and enjoys golf, softball, and poker.
Keith Palmer, Project Manager/Estimator
Keith has been with Echo Electric Company since 2012, first as an apprentice, then as a service tech, and now is learning project management and estimating. He loves spending time with his wife and two daughters and plays competitive disc golf whenever he can.
David Madden, Access Control Manager
Mr. Madden is the longest-tenured employee of Echo Electric Company. He holds Master Electrician licenses in multiple jurisdictions. He has more than 45 years of experience in the electrical and access control trades. Since joining Echo in 1989, Dave has designed, installed, and serviced nearly every brand of gate operator, and many access control systems. He holds IDEA certification for Automatic Gate Design and Installation. Dave has built an extensive list of customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, many of which he has taken care of for decades. Dave is a proficient welder and has a “green thumb,” so he enjoys gardening and raising tropical and ornamental plants in his greenhouse. He is an aficionado of Thai culture, and he and his wife Thoom make annual visits to Thailand to sightsee as well as to visit family and friends
Anthony G. Buccheri, Field Superintendent
Mr. Buccheri is directly responsible for the quality control and training of all Echo Electric field personnel. He taught electrical school for seven years, for the Independent Electrical Contractors of Maryland’s Apprenticeship Program. He is a licensed Journeyman Electrician with almost four decades of experience in the electrical trade and has been with Echo since 1994. Tony has supervised the renovation of a least 14 public schools, numerous large-scale residential remodeling projects, several historic building renovations, and several large projects in government buildings and on military bases. His expertise includes installation of building high voltage services and transformers, wiring of restaurants & other commercial spaces, home and commercial generator installations up to 500 KW, whole house, and low-voltage lighting control systems, and running thousands of feet of conduit on commercial jobs. An avid bowler and sports fan, he especially enjoys Orioles games and rooting for the Denver Broncos.
Melinda Courey, Service/Office Manager
Melinda has several years’ experience in the electrical service industry, and her knowledge really shines whether she is talking to a homeowner or one of our electricians. She enjoys helping people, both at work and in her spare time.
Jason Hull, Assistant Project Manager
Mr. Hull joined the Echo Electric team in August 2019. He spent five years in the medical industry. He has held positions in sales, technical work, and medical invoicing. Jason earned a business management degree from North Carolina State University. His strong work ethic and attention to detail are just two of the traits that he brings to Echo Electric Company. He spends his free time hiking, golfing, and watching sports.
Bruce D. Barnes, Founder
Mr. Barnes founded Echo Electric Company, Inc. in 1984. He has facilitated our growth from a one electrician company to a local industry leader while maintaining a solid reputation for customer service and quality workmanship. Mr. Barnes worked in the trade while obtaining his degree in marketing and business management in 1976. After a few years of working in sales to electrical contractors, he received his Master of Electrician’s License in 1984 and became an electrical contractor. The company grew then retracted several times during economic recessions, but survived for 32 years, due to a loyal customer base, until his retirement in 2016. Upon leaving the company in Mr. Medley’s capable hands, Bruce and his wife Glenda of 40 years, who is also our former Comptroller, retired to Florida and Tennessee. They enjoy fishing, boating, riding their Harleys, and traveling the country in their motorcoach.
All of our lead electricians have a minimum of 4 years’ experience, have attended code school, and hold journeyman licenses for the jurisdictions where we work. Their trucks are stocked with materials, state of the art equipment and tools to do their job efficiently. Most of them have more than 14 or 15 years of experience and are factory trained for various aspects of the trade.
Our mission is to provide dependable electrical service to our clients in a friendly and efficient manner, to maintain our reputation as an organization with a strong set of values, and consistently deliver quality workmanship to our customers.
